The Rim Country District of Arizona Professional Writers and Gila Community College have teamed up to launch a brand new, free book festival showcasing Arizona writers, and they’ve asked me to participate! The Payson Book Festival takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sat., July 25, at Gila Community College in Payson, Arizona, and includes a wide range of readings for both kids and adults, plus workshops for aspiring writers, book signings, live music and a bunch more.  I’ll be there all day, sharing a table with a fellow author, selling and signing copies of my memoir Cancer on the Brain.

Several great Arizona writers are participating, including featured speakers Buckshot Dot, Jayne Peace Pyle, Jinx Pyle, Conrad J. Storad and Marsha Ward. Many of the discussion topics sound fascinating, too: “Write the Memoir You’re Afraid to Write” and “Can You Base Fictional Characters on Real People? Tips to Keep From Getting Sued” should be quite interesting.

I love connecting with fellow writers and passionate readers and feel honored to be participating in the first of what will hopefully become an ongoing, regular event. Live nearby? Up for a great weekend drive?  Come by and say hello!

The fun begins at 9 a.m. Sat., July 25, at the Payson campus of Gila Community College, 201 N. Mud Springs Road, Payson.  Learn more at Payson Book Festival.
